Ace Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj finished seventh in the men's 100 metres backstroke at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Saturday. Chasing an elusive medal in the able-bodied CWG swimming events, the 21-year-old was fifth in the 50m split but was pushed further back in the tough first lane and finished with a timing of 54.31s.
Nataraj clocked 25.52 seconds to qualify for his second consecutive semifinals of the Games.
His own knock was crucial in Mumbai Indians chasing down a stiff 171-run target, but skipper Rohit Sharma chose to credit all-rounder Krunal Pandya for the Indian Premier League victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore, saying the youngster is proving to be a game-changer in every match.
